Dates fill quickly – especially weekends.

FAQ

When do graduation weekends fill up?

Fast. The two weekends after Stevenson and Vernon Hills graduations are typically booked by
January or February of the same year. If you’re planning for May or early June, get the date on
the books in the winter. Late June dates for college graduations have more flexibility, but the
prime Saturday afternoon slots still go first.

Can we combine multiple graduates into one party?

Yes, and this is increasingly common. Three or four families with kids in the same friend
group split the cost of a larger party rather than running individual events. We can build a
signage setup that recognizes all the graduates, structure a shared toast moment, and run a
single buffet that scales for the combined headcount. This usually works out cheaper per family
than separate parties and lets the friend group celebrate together.

How does the bar work when most guests are under 21?

We run two stations. The non-alcoholic side has Italian sodas, lemonades, mocktails, and a
coffee bar that the graduates use; the adult side has the standard beer, wine, and cocktail
offerings. We card aggressively at the adult station. Graduation parties are a context where
we expect underage guests to test, so our bartenders are trained to be strict. Parents appreciate
this; we appreciate not losing our liquor license.

Can we set up a photo display or memory wall?

Yes. Most graduation parties bring a tri-fold poster board of photos from the graduate’s school
years, plus a framed senior portrait. We set up a dedicated table for these displays near the
entry, where guests will see them as they arrive. If you want a more elaborate setup,
backdrop, balloon arch, themed photo booth, we can coordinate with vendors, or you can
bring your own setup; we just ask that nothing be adhered to the walls.

What’s the typical timing for a Saturday graduation party?

Most run 2 to 6 p.m. or 3 to 7 p.m. Guests arrive in the first hour and graze on shared apps, the
The buffet opens about 90 minutes in, speeches and cake happen around the 2.5-hour mark, and
the back half is dessert, photos, and the kids hanging out separately while the parents wind
down. Earlier afternoon timing works better for parties with a lot of family from out of town who
have evening dinners or hotel plans.
